Jon: Anzevino and Florence succumbs…

…to the dumbing down of the “American Apparel Factor”.

For years label Anzevino and Florence has built a name for itself making fashion forward basics that explore daring new silouettes. I’ve always respected there ability to move parallel to current trends instead of simply marching in line with what others were doing. What I mean is that you could always tell that they were headed in the same basic direction as similiar labels, they were just taking the different less traveled path to get there.

I am sincerely bummed at the design choices they are currently taking. I can’t help but feel it is simply a boring rank and file mindset that many labels have internalized in the wake of American Apparel’s overwhelming success. I just can’t get into this whole trashy late 80’s/early 90’s workout thing.

It’s so uninspiring!

I admit, I wear American Apparel tees as under garments, which is what any discerning and fashionable person would tell you they are best for. But this is too much. Anzevino and Florence have taken the next logical trashy step in releasing heat induced color changing jersey to there collection. In fact, it seems to be the only basket they have got their eggs in. I just can’t help but feel that the taste level for this is so low! I always loved how Anzevino and Florence could keep their basics casual but ultra modern and forward thinking.

ugg.

Just give me a nice pair of well fitted slacks, a button up, and maybe a vest or tie. You can throw those candy colored sneakers and hyper color tees in the trash where they belong.

They could at least put a nice Miami Vice jacket over it.
Not optimum, I’m just saying- at LEAST.
