KEEP IT ON THE BROWNLOWE: Best Albums of 2009

As the first leaves of autumn begin their descent and the amusements of summer time burn their facade inside my photographic memory card, I will prepare to revive my writing career here on gaycondo with what I anticipate to be a most difficult task: choosing the Best Record of 2009.

This year has been a stellar year for music. Many risks have been taken as the brave artists explore new territory, reinventing themselves through sonic expressions. With so many to choose from, it will be a grueling and disciplined venture in order to thoroughly experience and review each album’s accomplishment and weakness.

In the coming months you can expect reviews of Bat For Lashes, The Dodos, Dead Weather, White Rabbits, Thee Headliners, Tea Cozies, Agent Ribbons and Hecuba. These are just examples of the tip of the iceburg as there are other albums that I must consider.

As I prepare the next review, flash back to my nod of a verrrry probable candidate, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs with their radical dance dance revival record, It’s Blitz:
