KEEP IT ON THE BROWNLOWE: Amy Winehouse @ Grammys

Despite the drama of United States Officials denying Amy Winehouse’s Visa to attend the Grammys, United States Music fans LOVE her! This is apparant in Amy Winehouse sweeping away 5 of the 6 Grammy Nominations including Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, Pop Vocal Album, Female Pop Vocal Performance. Ms. Franklin would be proud!

I can’t help but think her performance choice was a specific slap in the face to those who barred her from entering the USA (“You Know I’m No Good” / “Rehab”)

Performing via Satellite, Amy Winehouse put on a stellar show. She looked a little crazy but I chalk it up to having to throw your own Grammy party and perform at 4AM London time. When it was announced she won Record of the Year she resembled a deer in headlights, eyes wide, confused and searching, much like great doe-eyed Hollywood actresses from the 40’s.

Gaycondo loves Amy Winehouse. I was a bit confused that she had her own E! True Hollywood Story after only being astronomically famous for under a year…. but her winning multiple Grammy Awards tells me she is going to be a legend. I just hope she doesn’t perpetuate the stereotype of other past legends by having a tragic drug related accident… I also hope she doesn’t get through rehab and lose her spark which would be even more upsetting…

Although, choosing to expose her “troubled lifestyle” to the public sure makes hilarious spoofs like this one:

Paul: Ted Haggard Still Gay…

…Surprise! You can’t pray yourself straight!

After more than a year of “therapy” and claiming to be “cured” it appears he’s finally given up on the whole ex-gay thing and cut ties with his old church. What’s surprising to me is that what upset his followers so much was that he was doing it with guys and not that he was doing it with prostitutes while on meth in seedy hotel rooms and sex clubs… Some of them might get the impression that that’s what all gay sex is like. Anyway, this is just more proof that the whole homo-rehab thing doesn’t work and hopefully people will finally stop trying it.
